Rider's Edge®

Welcome to Rider’s Edge® the Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling. Whether you're a two-wheeled novice or a seasoned road veteran, we can help you take the ride of your life.

Combining the time-tested curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® with the passion of Harley-Davidson, the Rider's Edge New Rider Course offers hands-on instruction and real-road experience that can teach you the skills you need to get the most out of riding.

The New Rider Course A proven blend of classroom instruction and range riding, the Rider's Edge New Rider Course delivers the basics of motorcycle operation in Harley-Davidson style. You’ll learn from devoted instructors certified by both the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) and Harley-Davidson to create a relaxed, supportive environment that fosters camaraderie and confidence. And after passing a written and riding skills evaluation, you'll receive an MSF RiderCourseSM Completion Card that could exempt you from the written and/or riding portion of the motorcycle license test, as well as possibly qualify you for discounts on insurance. But more than that, you'll begin a journey that lasts a lifetime.

Cost:

The cost of the course is $295.00. The fee must be
paid for at the time of registration.
Students will recieve a 15% discount towards
MotorClothes® Merchandise and Parts. This EXCLUDES service and
bike purchases. The discount is applicable during
class and 7 calendar days following course completion.
The registration fee is
non-refundable.

Course requirements:

To take the course, you will need:
• To know how to ride a bicycle
• A valid automobile driver's license is not required if the student is over the age of 18. If under the age of 18, the student must have a learner's permit.
• Jeans, sturdy over-the-ankle boots or shoes, full-fingered motorcycle gloves, a heavy long-sleeved shirt or jacket and protective eyewear

Motorcycle

You’ll be riding the 492cc Buell® Blast®, a light easy
to handle sportbike with a rider-friendly design
that will have you feeling in control in no time at all.

The course is held over 4 days, from Thursday to Sunday. All sessions are mandatory, so make sure the course fits into your schedule. Times are as follows:
  • Thursday: 6.00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

SKILLED RIDERS COURSE


At the present time, we do not have a class scheduled. Please check back for updates. The cost for the course is $95.00. The class will be held from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE SKILLED RIDERS COURSE A prerequisite for the course is that you must have your motorcycle endorsement. You will be riding your own motorcycle. You will be required to show proof of registration and insurance coverage. Inability to meet these requirements may result in your exclusion from the course.

You are required to wear the following clothing during all range sessions:
A helmet manufactured to DOT standards
eye protection, including non-tinted face shields, sunglasses, goggles, or glasses
Long sleeve shirt or jacket
Long pants, preferably jeans or leaether
Over-the-ankle boots or shoes
Full-fingered gloves
You will not be permitted to participate in the range sessions without proper protective clothing.
